The only water park within the City of Miami, offering four pools, two slide pools, one for toddlers, one for older children and adults, a recreation pool and a lazy river, all ages can come and cool off in the summer months. Located conveniently off the 836, Grapeland Water Park offers easy access from anywhere in Miami Dade County. Open March thru October, families can visit to splash around, come for the Dive-In Movies, or book a party to celebrate a birthday or graduation, or even special holidays.

An instant hit since it was completed in 2004, this 24.5-acre park was named the top attraction in the Midwest in 2017. Among its many draws are Frank Gehry’s Pritzker Pavilion, which hosts free concerts and movie screenings in the summer; sculptor Anish Kapoor’s 110-ton Cloud Gate (a.k.a. “The Bean”); and Jaume Plensa’s Crown Fountain, with its ever-changing array of locals’ faces spewing water every five minutes in the summer months. The Lurie Garden wows with year-round flower displays and monthly garden walks.

Thank you for visiting City of Miami Parks! We have 140+ park locations and we are committed to providing the highest level of recreation services to our residents and visitors. You will find we have something for everyone. Whether you want to swim, play tennis, rent a shelter, go for a bike ride or just spread out a picnic blanket and soak up the beautiful Miami weather.

Since its inception in 1965, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) has been devoted to collecting works of art that span both history and geography, in addition to representing Los Angeles’s uniquely diverse population. Today LACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States, with a collection that includes nearly 130,000 objects dating from antiquity to the present, encompassing the geographic world and nearly the entire history of art. Among the museum’s strengths are its holdings of Asian art, Latin American art, ranging from pre-Columbian masterpieces to works by leading modern and contemporary artists; and Islamic art, of which LACMA hosts one of the most significant collections in the world.

Chris Burden’s Urban Light, a piece made up of 202 cast-iron street lamps gathered from around L.A. and restored to working order, has quickly become one of the city’s indelible landmarks. But you’d be selling yourself short if you don’t venture beyond the photo-friendly installation; LACMA’s collections boast modernist masterpieces, large-scale contemporary works (including Richard Serra’s massive swirling sculpture and Burden’s buzzing, hypnotic Metropolis II).

A museum of international stature as well as a vital part of Southern California, LACMA shares its vast collections through exhibitions, free programs for travelers and locals, and research facilities that attract over a million visitors annually.
